Finding a Therapist or Counselor in Denver, NC

Counseling in Denver, NC Counselor in Denver, NC Therapist in Denver, NC

Denver, North Carolina is a town that has seen tremendous growth in the last decade. This has been great for getting more businesses open and building our community. It has also has led to an influx of new residents, with new neighborhoods and apartments being built as I write this. This ever-increasing population has not only impacted traffic, but also made it more difficult to find a counselor or therapist that is a good fit for you. I want to help you with finding someone that not only has an opening, but is specialized in and LOVES helping people just like you!

Tips for finding a therapist counselor in Denver, NC

  • Word of Mouth

Often the best recommendations we get come from people in our immediate circle that had an experience they really enjoyed. If we are talking about movies or a new product, others tend to give you advice unprompted. However, people don’t tend to sing from the rooftops they are in counseling and it’s a little socially frowned upon to tell someone they need therapy (what are you trying to say??). So, a good place to start would be to ask your family, friends, social media groups, or other groups you are a part of for recommendations. They can tell you who they have seen (and loved) for counseling. If you feel like you get along with whoever is giving you the recommendation, there is a good chance you will also get along with their therapist.

  • Online Directory

There are many great online directories specifically for mental health help. One of the best known is Psychology Today. Another great option is Monarch. These directories give you the option to filter through providers to see who is available that fits your needs in your area. Then you can also browse their profiles, check out their websites or resources available, and decide who you want to reach out to.

  • Insurance Directory

If you have insurance, you may want to start by looking at who is covered by your insurance carrier. Often times, insurance companies provide a directory that can be accessed by either calling the number on the back of your card or logging in to your online portal. Many people prefer the online option, if available, because you can filter through providers much like you can with the other online directories. For more information on this if you do not know how to access this, start by calling the number on the back of your card.

  • Google

Of course you can also google or use other search engines to find therapists or counselors near you. This is especially helpful if you are looking for someone that is close to you. By simply googling something like “counselor near me” or “counseling in Denver, NC,” you will see many google business profiles pop up that will give you the office location on a map. It will also bring up the websites of providers in your area. Using google can sometimes be more time consuming, especially if you are looking for someone who meets your needs. This is because you have to open up the websites individually and read them to get some information like specialities, location, hours, credentials, accepted insurances, etc. However, google can bring up options that none of the other options may have been able to provide.

  • Maps

Do you have a smart phone? If so, you have a great resource in the palm of your hand, especially if you really want a counselor or therapist that is conveniently located near you. Whether you have maps on an Apple, Samsung, or other smart device, you can open your maps app and look up counselors near me, counseling near me, therapist near me, therapist near me, etc. This will give you pins on the map and you can see where the offices are located and see who you are interested in reaching out to. Similar to Google, you then have to do some legwork to find out the information you need but still a great option if location is your primary concern.

I want to help you find therapist / counselor in Denver, NC

I am a local therapist that LOVES what I do, but I understand that I can’t work with everyone that is looking for a counselor in Denver, NC. For one, logistically that would just be impossible. Plus, you need to have good connection with your counselor or therapist for counseling to be effective. To have a good connection, you need someone who knows how to help you, is passionate about helping people like you, and that you click with. So, I am also not going to check all of those boxes for everyone. However, even if I don’t check off your boxes, I still want to help you find someone who does.
