Counseling in Denver, NC

So, you are here, which means you are looking for a therapist or counselor that can actually help you. You have been struggling with your symptoms for so long that you don’t want to risk picking someone that is not going to understand you, much less help you find the relief you’ve wanted. Whether you are looking for mental peace, motivation to resume being you, relief from the negative thoughts and images in your mind, the feeling of being present in your life, reconciliation or growth in your relationships, or healing your emotional pain, I can help you.

My name is Juliya Whitley, and I became a therapist because my passion is helping people who have been through hard situations and want to make their lives better. My approach to counseling is what I call “skill-based.” I want to teach people the skills they need in order to handle situations on their own so that they never have to return to counseling for similar issues in the future. I love seeing people not just heal, but thrive as they move forward in life and make changes that reflect their happier and healthier mental headspace. I delight in seeing how these changes positively impact their families, friends, and communities. So, if you truly want to make a change in your life, are ready to learn the skills, and put the skills into practice, I am ready and excited to help you!

I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in NC (#2459) and SC (#8340). I am also a Qualified Supervisor for the NCLCMHC board (#QS154567) and an AAMFT Approved Supervisory Candidate. I have a Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and experience in working with multiple types of traumatic experiences, anxiety, depression, dissociation, couples, families, and grief. I also have specialized training in EMDR, Brainspotting, and couples counseling. My approaches include CBT, DBT, EMDR, Brainspotting, Prepare/Enrich, and Christian Counseling.

In addition to providing counseling services for clients, I also provide training and supervision for interns, LMFTAs, LCMHCAs, practice owners, and more. For more information on supervision, my educational blog posts, and more, click here.
