Mental Health Counselor in Denver, NC

Job Description

Here at Equalize Counseling & Consulting, we aim to be different in many ways. One of those ways is by setting clear expectations for applicants. We want to find individuals who will not only be able to complete the necessary job functions, but also fit well into the mission and dynamics of the team, in order to provide the best possible care for clients. Additionally, we want to speak into the culture and work environment future employees can expect. So, our job descriptions are in a narrative form that is utilized to draw in (and hopefully inspire) applicants who feel a connection to the storyline presented.

You are a new graduate or newly licensed counselor. You’ve gained some experience through internship during school and discovered that you truly LOVE doing therapy, especially with certain types of clients. Maybe you haven’t quite found your niche yet and/or know you need more training to be the best provider you can be for your favorite population(s). Now that you have completed the requirements and are either working on or have obtained licensure in North Carolina, you are searching for somewhere you can practice this profession you are passionate about.

Private practice remote mental health counseling job available in NC

You ideally want to work in private practice. However, you do not want the pressures, responsibilities, and liability of running your own business, at least not yet. You want an environment where you can grow and pursue the types of continuing education that will help both you and your future clients flourish. In order to do this, you need a work culture that allows you to not “know it all” and receive help when needed (because who actually knows it all?!). While you want some help mastering some of the standards of the profession, such as completing client charts, you also do not want to be micromanaged. You want to be a professional who is trusted to do their job and treated with respect. All the while, you like the idea of someone else managing administration tasks like billing and marketing so you can focus on working with your clients.

While you do want to pursue this career path, you also know how important it is to have a healthy work/life balance. You do not want your schedule to be completely dictated by someone else, nor do you want to be told where you can do your job. Ideally, you want a flexible schedule that can change as needed with life events/needs, vacations, and personal preferences (which is probably one reason why you want to work in private practice in the first place). You dream of working with clients in the office and even from home at times, all the while being able to dictate your own schedule.
