Moms Support Group in North Carolina

Is a support group for me?

You a mom that loves your children, but sometimes a break would be amazing. Not a long break, just enough to take some deep breaths and come back more ready to handle daily life again. You feel like life has become increasingly difficult and overwhelming and your former ways of coping just aren’t cutting it anymore. On top of trying to manage the daily stressors, you also find yourself trying to understand who you are as an individual and what is expected of you as your children move from phase to phase. Some phases are easier to let go of than others, while some are scary to move towards. The mom guilt is real and the bittersweet moments can be overwhelming.

If you identify with any of these feelings, then we have a space for you! Our moms groups focus on building a supportive community that can grow together through learning skills to help with the everyday overwhelm, building a supportive community of women who get you (and your struggles), and guiding you as we maneuver the difficult thoughts and feelings that come with being mommas together.

Mom support groups here at Equalize Counseling & Consulting are closed, short term groups. This means you get to meet with the same moms each week for a set period of time. In the case of moms groups, groups meet for 1 hour over 8 weeks with a licensed counselor, who is also a mom. After groups are over, moms can continue their community beyond counseling by staying in touch!

How do counseling groups work?

For now, all of our counseling groups are held via telehealth (virtually) through our HIPAA secure EHR system. This means you can participate from the comfort of your own home without having to find a sitter or rush around to make it to group on time! Also, especially in the case of those with small children, kids can be present during these groups because we understand time alone is not always possible.

Blossoming Mamas

This group is focused on helping moms with children ages 24 months and younger where motherhood blossoms with support.

Little Learners & Learning Moms

From 2 years to kindergarten, kids are going through many changes for moms to navigate.

School Days & Mom Ways

Once elementary school starts, it is a whole new world in so many ways. As the kids are growing at school, moms grow in the home.
